I remember when i did my first 20rep squat with the real barbell...using 135lb. That was painful. But today...OMG!!! :Bad Day: WOOO...now i truly know what HARD WORK is. Before...is just the pu**y stuff...but today....WOOOOO I packed on 2x25lb plates on each side...that makes it 145lb. This time...i'm full squating. 1 rep , 2 rep....keeps on going..as i listen to "MEANING OF LIFE" from my ipod. (that last song from 98rep squat) God....by the time i was done with my 12th rep...my traps...my back..and i think shoulder even ...was numb?? It felt like i had no blood flow in there anymore 13,14,15...wooo pretty soon my lower back is feeling it pretty bad.... 16,17,18...ahhhhhh!!! :Head Bash: finally i made it to 20. I dropped to the floor. The weight maybe light when doing 10reps or so. But doing 20rep is so demanding on the body. I don't think its the squating part that's hard....its the pain i have to endure.... :Head Bash: I have decided to do 2 weeks of Power/Pump routine and 1 week of 20rep squat cycle.

Max,20 rep squats is some of the hardest work you can do. Not only does your body kill you but your breathing is like a runaway train! I might start doing them again.....it`s been a long time. Another tough one I do is leg press; 1 plate each side 50 reps 2 plates each side 40 reps 3 " " " 30 reps 4 " " " 20 reps 5 " " " 10 reps Just an example you use weights that make you work hard to push out all reps.................OUCH!!

That's some good stuff there Maximus! Good job <pats Maxie on the back>!!!
Now, the real test will come when you do 20 reps with your ten rep weight!!! ;D
Keep up the good work.

Yea... tim..you're right..it was really hard to breathe....resting at the top ain't helping either cause not feeling my back sort of hurts. Feels like i just want to let the squeeze on my traps go...
another thing that happened though while i was squating was that i didn't set the bars on the side on the lowest setting...only to the second lowest...so on some of the reps..i kind of banged it. Next time..i'm putting it as low as it can.
Thanks youngblood.

When I was younger, I use to do 100-rep squats with 135lbs. I would get the first 30 without stopping. Then I would get the next 20, and so on until I reached 100. Every time I started to fail I wold lock out and rest for 10 seconds. By the time I got to 90, I was pausing almost every rep. Talk about brutal, my legs would be sore for about a Week!!!

Nice job, Max! Keep it up! I remember back in the day, we'd set aside one day a month, usually a Saturday, and do one straight hour of squats. There were times when my legs were so numbed out that I couldn't feel the gas and break pedals on the drive home. Got some freaky looking legs out of doing that, that's for sure.
