Trainer Tom was blunt this morning. I have a great foundation, huge potential, but I HAVE to get the rupture just above the Linea Alba repaired.
Insurance I'm afraid wont pay so I'll have to find a surgeon who will finance.
I know alot of competitive bodybuilders look down on surgery, but this is really needed. Is this going to cause problems with judges later on? Is it ethical to compete knowing you have been surgically fixed.
Also has anyone had or know of anyone who has had this done? how much was it and how long was recuperation?
TIA
Brock

TIA Brock Brock,I don`t see how it could be considered unethical to get the surgery.......it`s a health matter, and not like you were getting pec implants or something crazy like that! ;D I highly doubt if it would be a problem as far as the judges are concerned. Good luck with it bud!!

I'm with Tim on this one. If you were to get your pecs "tigthened up" a la Titus last year, then I would have a problem with it. That was something that was cause massive amounts of something or other. Your problem didn't come from that did it? I'm guessing hernia, which can happen to anyone at anytime really. George Farah, although the circumstances are questionable, he has a huge scar down the middle of his stomach. One would think the judges would mark him down- and it wasn't until he started filling his arms with some exogenous substances that he was marked down-not for his medical scar. Good luck. Sometimes if you can find a good doctor, they'll actually write the surgery off and it costs you $0. But the chances of that is rare. My roommate had spent, literally, $2.3 MILLION dollars with this one doctor, and there was a surgery his insurance wouldn't cover, so his Dr. essentially said "This ones on me."

Yep, hernia I got a dive trip. Inadequate ladder, I started to slip, I caught myself on the boat gunwal and RIPPPPPPP.
There's a pic of me in full gear on my back in PAIN.
I now look like I'm starting my 3rd trimester.
