All good- still no cancer return, liver panel and blood were excellent. Doc walked in and said - WOW , 3 times he said it and checked my bicep twice.
I think he was impressed.
To celebrate, I came into the gym feeling strong, looked at the squat rack and told Tom "lets go for 405"
and I did! 5 reps! Added 10 lbs to my deads to boot!
Makes up almost for the $641.50 TTL I had to pay on the new truck.

Thanks SKi, it was time to deal a major shock to my quads. Blasted the cr*p out of them and did not let up.
Lifting heavy seems to be the only way I can grow, so I do alot of power movements.
Trainer Tom had no sympathy and gave no quarter.
How do you feel about lifting heavy ?

I go as heavy as I can for the reps I`m seeking..............sometimes 3-5,and sometimes 8-20........but always as heavy as possible for that given day, based on a few variables of course.
It depends on how heavy I trained the previous week,if I feel reuperated, whether I`m overtrained or not,if I`m dieting on low carbs and calories,or at times, I will cycle down to a bit lighter training to avoid burnout.........but as a rule,I push it hard and heavy as much as possible.
It`s always heavy ,but the situation is taken into consideration.

That's great news, that f'n cancer is all around me. I hate it. But I love to hear when someone is winning the fight, pretty inspirational.

It`s always heavy ,but the situation is taken into consideration. Well, just to prove me wrong, Tom has decided we need to back off on going for that last extreme and work more on clean full movements, getting a good squeeze on the bottom, and shaking things up. So today my bench work concentrated on 6 to 8 reps for the last set, making sure I went deep and squeezed it out. Next week we shift back to dumbell declines to try and develope the stabilizers in my arms better. Still heavy for me, but not the monster 4-5 rep max sets we were doing. Passionate, hows your own battle going? B
