Unfortunatly I work out at a health club not a "gym". Each year new faces show up for a month or two then dissapear. Well I must share with you what happened to me today. Two things: 1: Most everyone at my gym knows me and knows NOT to talk to me while working out. (I am always glad to help anyone when I am done tho) well I was IN THE MIDDLE of doing shruggs squeezing it out and I feel someone tap me on the back. I continued thru my set and turned around and the guy asks " how old are you?" I calmly said 36 and started to turn around and do another set and he tapped me again and said "good I am too, Do you get sore?" I remained calm and said I am getting ready for a show which is in two weeks. I will talk to you in a bit. Then he said "whats a show?" 2: This is a blast from the past, remember in the early 80's when people wore sweats with shorts over them and had head and wrist bands on to stop sweat? Well I had to do a double take, someone must have had their stuff stored away for a long time and "broke it out" for the summer slimming down. Anyone els have an experience to share?

It amazes me how so many styles are making a comeback...
Saw a guy in a full track suit the other day. Swear it was the same stuff people were wearing when I was six years old or so... Full white Addidas track suit and shoes. I swear he looked just like Danny Partridge...
Then there's this new fad of wear a toque (most of you guys call them beanies...) as something "cool" while sweating it out in the gym. I just LMFAO. Around here those things are common as shoes and they're for keeping your head/ears from freezing due to the cold.

Pretty cool replies guys. Danny partridge.. lmao
I really don't like talking about people, but sometimes it just has to be told:
This one guy has been a member for the past 16 yrs that I know of. He has 2 pairs of tiger print Zubaz pants and about 4 cut up Rag Tops. To this day he still wears them?

By the way great story! hahaha, I think we have all experienced similar things! I know once in the hack squat machine someone yelled my name and I turned my head and BOOM! Jacked my neck all up. Hey Kyle, May 7th in Canton NABBA show then on May 14th is the Mike Francois Classic which I am doing also. The Francois had about 130 competitors last year. it should be a great show. It is in Westerville near Columbus. pm me or e-mail me if you want directions.
If I do well in the Columbus show I plan on doing the Northern USA in Cleveland in the fall.
macattack- no, those are pretty eyes its your greasy hair. lol

Mr. Canton! GOOD LUCK! One of my best friends is doing that show! His second show ever! I was planning on coming to that show, but my sister graduates that same day from college in Columbus. Now that you'll be in it, I am gonig to make it a POINT to be at that show.
I wanted to go to the Francois Classic because I thought it'd be a good show for me to do next year and I wanted to see the format, etc.., but I have a baseball game (I coach HS).
Hey, Carl, you doing the Mash again?

Kyle, I am not sure about the Mash yet. If I place top 2 in the Francois I will be Mentally prepared to do the
IFBB NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS on Sept. 2/3 it is a Pro/am contest so NPC competitors can do it. Top 3 of the pros go to the Olympia from this show, so it is a big one.
And I would shoot for the
MEN'S AND WOMENS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS in Atlanta, Ga. Nov. 18/19
I will play it by ear tho, things can change. I will be around to keep you informed and you let me know which ones you plan on doing as well. I replied to one of your threads on which shows to do. I hope it helped? ---------------------------------------------------------- ANY ONE ELS HAVE A STORY ABOUT THE GYM?

Not sure if this is funny but it is an incident:
Every year Derrel Terrel runs his Total Package Transformation contest, a12 week "boot camp" with instruction, weigh-ins, media coverae, etc.
Some guys do go overboard on it tho. Tuesday while i'm doing bench with Tom we hear a loud THUD over by the Stair Steppers. Seems that one guy, fearing he would not make Sundays weigh in had been doing cardio off and no for 24 hours straight WITH JUST ONE CAN OF TUNA AND WATER TO EAT.
TIMBERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
Darrel got him on a bench , got him upright and stood over him making him drink a high glucose recovery drink.
Yessh
I dont make comments about what people wear. I wear tights on leg day , so I have no room to talk.

Hahahaha Man all these things just ring so true as I've joined a new gym. It's over an hour away but it is literally bigger than a Dick's Sporting goods store and has between 30 and 40 pieces of equipment for EACH BODYPART! You see alot there as there is usually hundreds of people there.
