Hi all,
Ive not posted on the site since a few days after arriving but ive been hanging around in the background reading posts and what not.
I just thought id give a little update on how im doing. I think it was around the beginning/mid February when I started on the weights ‘proper’. I am definitely noticing a difference in my arms but im not so sure about the rest of my body.
Before I go on I should mention I have done very little with my legs. For those who don’t know I have spina bifida and find it difficult so all ive been doing is leg curls with small weights maybe once every 2 weeks.
What I have really been focusing on is getting thin/lean first, I have been taking my dog for 20-25 min walks twice a day, but as I actually use crutches to walk this is working my upper body more, which im fine with.
I have definitely noticed a different in my stomach too, whilst I am ‘chubby’ instead of fat (isn’t that the same thing? lol) I haven’t got too much to lose. I have cut down on alcohol (used to go out every Saturday night), chips… or French fries, used to have them at least 3 times a week, although they were oven baked and better for you than deep fried ones, I still cut them out, and a few other things I have stopped eating and replaced with fruit/veg.
My diet now normally consists of Cornflakes for breakfast, or tuna on a slice of toast. I don’t like eggs so if anyone has a protein alternative for breakfast im open to suggestions. For lunch, if I had Cornflakes for breakfast ill have a Tuna Salad, if I had Tuna for breakfast ill usually just have fruit. Dinner some kind of meat/fish with veg/salad, I have potatoes with dinner 2 or 3 times a week I think.
The thing is for the past few weeks or so I don’t think I have lost as much weight as I did in the beginning. I know when your body gets used to a new diet after a while it gets used to it and the weight gets harder to burn off. So now im thinking of getting some protein drinks and fat burner/carb blocker tablets as the next step. I have found that i am not hungry after working out and maybe a protein drink would be best cause im most definately thursty afterwards.
I don’t know if this is the right thing to do, that’s why im asking for a lil help from people who have possibly been there and got the t-shirt, lol.
Also if you could tell me a place on the web to get the products that would help. I live Scotland in a small town and it would just be a lot easier to get it online, trust me on this one, lol.
One last thing, i think my left bicep has grown bigger than my right. What should i do?.... more reps with the right? or same amount of reps but less weight on the left side. I still only use Dumbells at the moment, no Barbell.
It’s a bit of a long read…. Sorry ;D
Regards,
Chris
