Playing catch up still....my weekend was filled with ups and downs both personally and diet/training wise. My low back was bothering me A LOT for the first time in a few months also. But, as much as I hate to post about my moments of weakness, I promised myself I'd be 100% honest in my jounral so I can track my progress and find areas for improvement in the future. Plus, it's not always the end of the road that matters, it's the journey of how you got there in which we learn and grow...
[SATURDAY'S ENTRY]:
Diet today: 10:30- 4 egg whites, 3oz ground buffalo, vitamin, clen 1:15- 4oz 99% lean ground turkey, green beans, 2 Udo's caps 4:00- cinnamon stick at Dunkins' , coffee 5:00- low carb tortilla, 4 egg whites, 1tbsp natty PB, clen 5:45- 1c sugar free fat free pudding with 1 scoop protein powder, 2 tbsp fat free cool whip 9:00- repeat 10:00- low carb tortilla with 3oz 99% lean ground turkey
OK...had a bad day eating wise...not feeling well and pretty stressed...nana is back in the hospital. Didn't get to go to the gym today b/c I've been at the hospital and back and forth between there and my aunt's today.
Will get right back on track next meal and tomorrow. Can you say double cardio for Sara tomorrow??? LOL

[SUNDAY'S ENTRY]:
I have been stressed and my focus has been diverted to my family and financial stresses, but that's where they need to be right now, I realize that. But, now I'm focusing on finding balance. My nana is home again, so it's kind of day by day now and just waiting to see how things go. But, I also have to remember that life is way too short to constantly be stressed and worrying about everything all the time. You need to sit back and enjoy it sometimes and be thankful for those good things we do have.
Well, my freakin insomnia kept me up until 5AM (I've been taking ZMA too to see if that helps any) and then my lovely puppy decided to wake me up barking and biting my toes at 7:30. Ahhh...I feel SO rested (NOT!). Vegged out for a little bit before going to do my AM cardio. I may try to take a nap sometime early afternoon so I don't fall asleep during the Pats game at 4 today (nothing would make me more mad than if I miss a game LOL).
AM Cardio: 60 mins (30 recumbent bike, 10 treadmill, 20 elliptical)
Diet: 8:00- 1 low carb tortilla wrap with spray butter and cinnamon (snack) 11:45- 4 egg whites, 1 yolk, 3oz 99% lean ground turkey, 2 Udo's cap, vitamin (post-cardio) 1:30- 1 low carb tortilla, 1tbsp natty PB (snack) 2:45- 3.5oz ground buffalo, salad with no calorie dressing & vinegar 5:15- 4 egg whites, 2.5oz 99% lean ground turkey, broccoli, 2 Udo's caps 8:30- 1 low carb tortilla, 1tbsp natty PB (snack) 10:00- Protein shake, glutamine
DAMMNIT, ever since a friend of mine's on Mayhem's thread about low carb tortillas, I was craving them LOL...had to buy some when I went shopping yesterday...no more...I like them too much!

Sara, throw that freakin` scale out the window, and go by the mirror only. If you feel you must weigh yourself, and obviously there are good reasons to do so, just do it once a week, under the exact same conditions, early AM, after hitting the bathroom, and eating or drinking absoulutely nothing before weighing. And DAMMIT stay positive ,block out that other uncontrollable crap and stay focused! Keep pumping hun,we`re all behind you !!

THANK YOU guys! Yeah, yesterday was not a pleasant one, but I used that anger and had a great back workout last night. ;D
Chad- No, I'm not sure how many calories I'm taking in right now. I'm waiting to get my diet so for now I've just been eating somewhat similiar to how I used to (minus the slips I had at the beginning, but as of Dec 1, it's ON 100%...I'll have 5 months plus a couple of days). When I work with Bodyfx, I don't count calories, I count macronutrients and the adjustments are made to those. And, we've always tended to have me eat my carbs around my workouts and concentrate on proteins and healthy fats at the other meals. I'll keep you all updated once I start the "real" diet.
Ski- You always know what to say to motivate me and give me the kick in the ass I need from time to time. We ALL have stress, there's no reason to let it affect my goals, and yesterday, I'm proud that I didn't let it do that...I stayed on track, ate well, and had a good workout last night.
You're right about the scale. I don't usually weigh myself very often (that was the first time in about 4 months I think), partly because I've always weighed more than I look and because I know it's not an accurate judge of what's really going on. I use the mirror every day and a tape measure twice a month I actually weighed myself that day b/c a good friend of mine on another board has been going through some tough times in terms of her weight/body image. She weighed herself that AM and was very upset about it, so since I knew I'd weigh more, I weighed myself too to help make her feel a little better LOL. I'm over all that now and also now realize I was slightly higher due to that time of the month...FUN FUN FUN LOL
THANK YOU for your continued support and faith in me...I love you guys!

THANKS hun! I'd like to see that happen too! LOL...I'm DEFINTELY working hard to make that happen...

DIET: 9:30- 1/2c oatmeal, 1 scoop protein powder, glutamine, vitamin, 2 Udo's caps 1:30- 4oz 96% lean ground beef, broccoli, 1 tbsp flax seed meal, Liquid Clenbutrx 5:30- 1/2 c oatmeal, 1 scoop protein (had to force myself to eat..no appetite today for once...too upset) glutamine, BCAAs (pre-workout) 8:00- 4 plain rice cakes w/sugar free preserves, 1.5 scoops whey protein, glutamine, creatine, BCAAs, vitamin C & E (post-workout) 10:30- 4oz 96% lean ground beef, salad, 2tbsp natty peanut butter and 2 tbsp ff cool whip
PM TRAINING: Legs Smith machine squats: 4 x 15,15,12,12 Hammer hack squats: 2 x 15 Lying leg curls: 3 x 12,8,12 (drop set) Leg press: 3 x 15,12,12 Walking lunges: 1 x 12 per leg Stiff legged deadlifts: 2 x 12 Adduction machine: 2 x 20 Abduction machine: 2 x 20
OK...I know people are going to think "what the hell is this chicks problem" but I'm having yet ANOTHER VERY BAD DAY...heartbreaking actually and very emotional. I'm not going to go into details for a couple of reasons just yet, but I haven't been this sad or disappointed in a long time. I just want to record that because my stress levels are at an all-time high right now. BUT, never fear, I WON'T let this get in the way of my diet, training, or dedication to my goal.

Sara,I obviously don`t know yoir private situation but being diagnosed with chronic depression,an anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder(yeah I`m a mess) ;D I can relate to how life gets in the way of training, but it`s all a mental thing. I have learned as I got older to just not let things get to me as much.Of course I`m still an emotional human being and at times very much so but I let nothing come between me and my bodybuilding. Now I know that sounds stupid because I`m far from a bigtime BB but it has helped me immensely in my life at various times and at times is the only thing that is constant,so it comes right behind my wife, family, and friends, anything else get`s dealth with afterwards as I KNOW the problems will still be there because that too is a constant........................UNFORTUNATELY !! Use your mind to develop visualization techniques of just how you plan/want to look, and also give yourself pep talks throughout the day at various times in the form of positive affirmations....do this quietly so no one thinks you are crazy!! :Head Bash: Beleive me your mind IS the most powrful muscle in your body and developing these areas of thought do help you to get through life`s bullsh*t!! Stay strong and don`t falter...........this too shall pass as it always does!!

I'm right there with you Tim on the anxiety disorder gig. It comes and goes. I haven't had an attack in about a year, but felt a little of that old feeling when I started contest prep last year, and the culprit? Overanalyzing everything I was doing, counting all my calories to the nth degree, worrying about if I was doing enough mintues on cardio, was I eating enough protein??? All the crazy stuff, and I basically had to abandon my contest prep.
You know what? It's not worth driving yourself nuts over. Take your time getting ready, don't be in a rush and have confidence that you can have the things you want, the only thing that separates you from your goals is time.
A big time causer of stress is too forward of thinking. Yes you should be thinking about getting ready and what you want to look like onstage, but you have to live this day, this minute: the only meal to concern yourself with is the one in front of you, the only cardio session and weight training you have to think about is what's going on today. Life in "Day Tight Compartments" A series of successful days steers in onto the path of meeting your dreams and goals, you just have to give yourself time.

Thanks guys for the great advice and insight. I agree with you all. The stress I'm having is outside of my prep...it involves my relationship. But, I do appreciate your comments...keep them coming...they help keep me motivated.
