Seriously Sapph, what makes you think I have "excellent potential" I think if you want it... you can do it. You seem very motivated!!! I also think if you eat clean, lift heavy and work very hard, you can def have a great physique. It takes alot of discipline and determination. Now get started!!! ;D

Steph, I had a good look at your pics. While it's hard to judge potential, here are a few things I noticed:
1. Thick back. No, you're not Ronnie Coleman ... yet. But what you do have is a nice thick back from front to rear, as well as good width underneath your upper arms. That will translate to a very impressive back as you progress.
2. Round delts. Your delts are already nicely pronounced, as compared to your upper arm. As you train, you'll see that separation between the delt/tricep emerge more noticeably, and you'll be pleased with the lateral width your shoulders provide - it enhances the v-taper.
3. Good biceps. You have a peak that shows in the side chest and the back double biceps. That's a genetic thing, and will serve you well.
4. Thick lower pecs. Very nice! Some people think upper and lower pecs can be trained separately. I disagree, but if you want to give it a try, see if focusing on incline presses can help match up the upper with the lower.
5. A bit of bad news, but it is what it is. You tend to carry fat around the lovehandles, and below the pecs. This means that unless you are very lean you will always feel less muscular than you are, because your pecs will look flat (they aren't), and your v-taper will look less dramatic than it is. Don't sweat it. Build and build and build some more, then when you're ready, try a cutting phase to see what you think!
As for endos and ectos not being competitive. That's just a load of crap. Endos build muscle just as well as mesos, if not better. They just need to diet more strictly, which IMO is a good thing, because it makes us appreciate it more. As for ectos, they will always have NO trouble coming in top shape, and every pound of muscle on them looks like 5 on someone else.
Bodybuilding is about spirit, philosophy, dedication and, above all else, appreciating but never being satisfied with your progress.

It probably helps ALOT but that doesn't mean you can't build a good physique through hard work. Strength I think everybody can accomplish great feats, but as far as bodybuilding you gotta work with what God gave you.
For example being as strong as Arnold is probably attainable by quite a few people, but looking as good as he did in his prime is a totally different story.
Some people are just flat out skinny and can't put on any weight. For example if seriously double Gandhi if he were alive could be a bodybuilder. He had almost no body fat and no muscles. He's just a very extreme ecto.

Bodybuilding requires a great deal of strength,both mental and physical-if you have the mental aspect then its just a matter of training the physical strength component. You seem to have the hunger to learn about bodybuilding,and the more you learn about how your body works and responds the better you will become so keep it going Steph!
