Thanks guys! I just got home and I'm still reeling from the experience! It was a great weekend and I am tired!
Yes, I won the Master's over 40 and overall Master's division! You can check out pics on Muscular Development or Ironman's website.
The most bizarre thing that happened was as follows, the guy I beat for the overall Master's placed 3rd in the open light heavy wt. division and I didn't place in the open! Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining! I mean I won an overall title and then an hour later I'm not even in the top 5 against a guy that I just beat! I'm confused!! lol
Crazy sport huh! Oh well like I said I really can't complain but the judging sure was inconsistent! Everyone all day was complimenting me on my conditioning and all the guys in my class were already telling me I had it won. I honestly thought I had a shot at the open class! Oh well....
After looking at the pics I think I'm a little flat, starting to lose some size, so I going to make some adjustments in the five weeks before the Kentucky Muscle show

Congrats, Joel. What a great attitude as well. Judging seems to be an issue lately (or is it always...).
I've been on both sides of the same kind of call and it's always bizarre. Stay focused for the next one; we know you'll do great!

You did great Joel! My buddys and I knew you had it when you came out for the class. You put on a great display. I only wish I would have had a chance to get to meet you.
A coulpe of my trainers from Gold's were there as well. Kevin Smith did very well, placed 4th or 5th in the masters and finished 3rd in the open. I'm not sure of the people he went against so I can't comment on the consistency of the judging. Another of my trainers, Jackie Wolkov did well - placed 4th in the C class figure And Sara Bedrussian who instructs at Gold's for the group fitness classes placed 2nd in her class.

CONGRATS JOEL! I know what you mean about the judging- l won the superheavies at one show - and got 7 th in the Masters- maybe I wasn't warmed upl enough * or the judges are just weird at times. Anyway, you looked ripped. Just hold that for your next show, maybe fill back out a little and you'll win TWO fer sure.

Congrats Joel. I saw the pictures and you looked great. That sucks about the guy you beat placing in the open. A similar thing happened to Hoopie at one of his contests. Good attitude about it though.

Great win, Joel!! Knew it would happen and am thrilled for you. Congrats, buddy!!
Judging can be mighty strange sometimes. Have seen it before. If you beat the guy in the masters, you should have placed ahead of him in the open.
Anyway, enjoy your win!

Good attitude about it though. Thank you Eric, victory is sweet! Yeah, the judging can be pretty inconsistent at times but what can you do? I'm just going to focus on the positive and not worry about the things that are out of my control. Congrats again, to you on your major victory!
