Thanks, Randy.....I honestly feel that modesty is one of the greatest of human virtues, and sadly, is one that is greatly lacking today, especially in the world of sports. My father, ( who just happened to be born on July 13th!), always taught me that a man's actions speak for themselves.. You've been around this game long enough to know there are COUNTLESS @!#$holes who constantly take every opportunity to tell anyone all about their GREAT achievements and what an awesome athlete they are. It actually makes it somewhat embarrassing at times to be associated with the sport as the perception alot of folks have of us fits the latter category. I truly never think of anything I've done in the gym or on stage are anything special....it's just what I do. The accomplishments in my life that are truly special to me are those that center on my family life....being the best husband and father I can be. These are the things you leave behind when you are gone as your true legacy, and hopefully will positively help shape the character of your children. Modesty, to me, centers on the attitude that I do what I expect of myself, and on what my family counts on me to do...not for bragging rights or to be lauded by anyone, but rather to simply take care of business as a man is supposed to do. An a man's primary business should always be family first. Accomplishments that relate to other endeavors alway seem rather superfluous to me. I just printed that out and put it on my desk to read everyday! As always, thanks for your kind words, Andrew. I'm sincerely happy that you found some inspiration in my words. I have to tell you, though, that it is obvious to me that you have your act totally together ....even more remarkable considering your age. You possess alot of admirable traits and virtues, among them, modesty. It is a testament to the way you were raised.

Kieth, I was reading your workouts and as always I was in awe and utterly impressed, but then I read your above quoted post and was AWE STRUCK! you are an amazing person MC and I'm consider myself priveleged to know you, even if it just through the boards! Grant, It varies, but I usually hit every BP every 4-6 days. If the frequency goes up, I drop a few sets...If it's just once a week, I'll kick up the volume in terms of sets and exercises. Today is an OFF day for me...tomorrow it's BACK day!

Good post Keith !! Too many one dimensional people in this sport who become all consumed by training and competing and that`s all they care about. After all,all we do is lift weights,we areen`t curing Cancer or doing brain surgery. I love to train,but you have to be well rounded as this means very little in the big scheme of things. Us "older' guys are pretty damn smart , now aren't we!? Seriously, one of the reasons I love your board, Tim, is that beginning with you, right from the top, we don't have any "legend in their own mind" types here. Everyone here is humble, encouraging and respectful....you couldn't ask for more. And I think it has ALOT to do with the guy who runs this board. Keith,I just saw this post,and wanted to say thanks for the kind words. Even if I looked like Arnold,I would still be myself.............well,I might try to show off just a little once in a while!! LOL ;D Seriously,not to toot my own horn,but I never show off and I always try to help folks in the gym no matter what level they are at.........same goes for neighbors of mine who may need a hand. We only go around once,there is no dress rehearsal, so it`s nice to be nice if possible, and I learned how to be humble through Alcoholics Anonymous....one place where you must become humble because you have to assess yourself, and admit your faults........very hard for some people to do,but it was a no brainer for me. I will also say, to echo others here,that if no other members ever signed up again,I wouldn`t feel bad because the people we have here now are just awesome!! All in all, I am very pleased with my workouts lately...you'll notice I've dropped the volume and am focusing on building my poundages back up again. My upper body strength is nearly all the way back now that I can train heavy again, and even though I've been careful with the legs,, their strength is coming back quicker than expected. When I switch to my pre-contest mode next month, the volume per bodypart will increase dramatically, while I will still try to lift as heavy as possible. (as usual!)
