Thats a freaking AWESOME leg w/o Tim! That was something else to read. No doubt you couldnt walk after that one. What do you do to drop water before a contest?

Thats a freaking AWESOME leg w/o Tim! That was something else to read. No doubt you couldnt walk after that one. What do you do to drop water before a contest? Thanks Steve.......my legs are sore this morning so I`ll take it easy on cardio today. My left calf cramped up on me and woke me out of a sound sleep at 4:15 AM........youch!!!! To drop water,I simply drink as much as I can,and then try to get in a little more if possible. More water in = more water out. I stop drinking the night before the contest, depends on how I`m looking to determine the exact time, also drop sodium at three days out,as well as a moderate carb up for 2-3 days, after a 3 day carb depletion phase.

Tim, thats what I normally do. Its hard to convince people to drink more water in order to lose water! Everybody that I talk to at a show will always say how thirsty they are from not drinking for several days. Plus you always will see guys cramping up at shows.

I've always felt you can't pump up fully if you're too dehydrated from lack of water. I think this has alot to do with some guys coming in flat.

On the morning of the contest, depending on my condition,I may have a small amount of water and re-introducs a bit of food containing sodium just to help to get a good pump. Normally, and I know it`s kinda` weird,I get a good pump whether I eat a lot of carbs or not.

Joel,if you cut water out too early, the hormone Aldosterone kicks and holds on to water in the body,as a survival mechanism to keep you from becoming dehydrated. Other times on contest day, also depending on the way I look,I may just sip and spit water, just to moisten my mouth. Hey Rob,just doing my thing brother!! I`ll stop by your board later...been kinda` busy.
