I have said it before, sheiko is hell!
This was one of the toughest workouts yet. But I think it had to do with me being a little tired. I just couldn't muster the energy to get through the workout in 2-1/2 hours. It actually took me 3 hours and 15 minutes!!!

Sunday Had to take a few days off, Friday was a nightmare of a day. Saturday I got hung up at school and then me and My oldest son went to see IRONMAN (which was kick ass).
The day off really helped my joints, which were really aching.

Incline dumbell press 1x12x100 1x12x120 1x10x140 (never have done that many reps with that weight).
Seated dumbell press 1x15x65 1x8x100 1x8x100
Deadlifts with bands I use green bands and put one end on the bar, wrap it around the 120lbs dumbell shaft, and then put the other band on the bar.
I have no idea how much extra resistance that is, one band is 75lbs of resistance at the top.
Anyway

done bands worked great!

Tired today, juist felt run down.
Good thing the meet is 2 weeks away. Weights felt somewhat lite today but my joints are really aching.

ok, done. Elbows, fore arms, shoulders hurtin, but the weights felt lite! So I think its good that i am in the wind down part of the comp phase.

Today I felt closer to my old self. Feeling strong!

felt good
went heavier then I was suppose to but I was feeling strong and this will be my last deadlift workout before the meet.

Last set I felt so strong I couldn't help but do two more reps. It felt as if the more I did tonight the stronger I got!

Went down on one knee and praised the lord above. I looked skyward and said "for power and the glory of you LORD!"

typical lots of carbs, good proteins, I keep an eye on the fat , but I must admit I have fast food about once a week, otherwise, its about steak twice a week, chicken the other days

May 24th Kumite recap
First and foremost I have to send a true heartfelt thanks to Jim aka Toolpod! He came down to help me out. I really wouldn't be a powerlifter without him!
6:00 am morning ritual 2 strawberry poptarts, pack gym bag, load it up with biofreeze, knee wraps, wrist wraps, elbow sleeves, weight belt (with the exception of the belt I never use the other stuff, but it just feels better to bring them along). Pick out shirt-the kids wanted me to use the one they got me. It reads "Dad gone Mad, Beware as he comes from the garage!" I put on my new converse, and black socks!
7:00am Meet Jim for coffee at starbucks. They were serving my favorite Sumatra! The guy behind the counter asks "how you doing today?" I answer "today is going to be a good day"
7:30am Check in at the Kumite, get introduced to just about everyone there (does toolpod know everyone?)
8:30am weigh in 326.6 (yikes!)
9:00am rule clinic
9:30am lifting starts!
Squats We meet a nice kid named Shawn who trains down at Ryan Ceili's gym. super nice guy. Ryan shows up and of course TP knows him and introduces us. Dude is a super stud. Thick as all get out!
Opener. 550. Success. For some strange reason my opener is always botched! The bar is too high and I sink too low. By I always get white lights
2nd attempt 600-Success Went up and down nicely! Felt strong.
3rd attempt 622.7-SUCCESS!!!!!!!! New PR felt great! Many said I need to start using real weight. The heaviest squat of the day!
1/2 hour break. Downded an awesome protein smoothie.
Bench Opener 402-easy! The head judge (Al) calls me over and says "that lift just won you a piss test!!!" LOL
2nd attempt 418-easy! Feeling strong
3rd attempt 440.9-SUCCESS totally blew my mind! this is a 25lbs increase in only 9 weeks! a 35 lbs increase in less then 9 months!!! Cloud 9!!!!
quick break and its time for the deadlifts
Deadlifts Opener 550 easy
2nd attempt 600-went up easy but the legs wiggled, got white lights though. (I think I was starting to fatigue a little)
3rd attempt 650-missed I was so fired up. 1700 was within reach. 640 would have gotten me there, but since I was fired up i did it for fun. I pulled it to my knees but stalled, I thought I could get it and I was pulling hard! but no go. Not dissapointed at all, I know I could have pulled 625-630. Just over reached a little. Next time it will be mine!
Total=1664 An 89lbs increase on my total in 9 weeks!
