What do the old timers listen to on here? Black Sabbath always kicks ass. Also, how many would prefer to listen to nothing? I do that some times at my gym late at night when it's just me in there. I don't use collars and just let the plates bang together. Man that's great stuff.

I have no choice but to listen to the crap they play at my gym.........actually unless it`s a real annoying song,I don`t really notice the music too much.
If I had my own way,I`d play some Sabbath,AC/DC,Santana,Chicago..............anything from the 1970`s rock genre`......the last time they made good mainstream music in my opinion, consistantly anyway.

In my gym a lot of the time they play CRAP..I think one time I heard Ace of Base...wtf?
My old gym though, if Iwent in the morning, the girl who worked the desk would play GOOD stuff.

if you like Rob D (he did Clubbed to Death), also get Furious Angels...it's awesome...damn, pretty much anything by ol Rob (his name is Rob Dougan...some people list their music under that for some reason, even though his "name" is Rob D)
the Jason Nevins remix of N.E.R.D.'s is pretty pulsing also, but it might be more of like an aerobics class type of song, lol...dl it and see what you think...
try dling the Blood Sugar Sex Magik cd by Red Hot Chili Peppers...that's the sh*t right there
also, Rage Against the Machine's first album (self titled i think) is pretty great for working out
Blood Has Been Shed is a hardcore metal band from Texas...i think that the old Killswitch singer sings for them now actually...they are pretty intense as well
however, for overall BEST workout band, I'm definitely gonna have to go with Unearth...without a doubt the best band to listen to while working out, in my opinion...download "My heart bleeds no longer" "stings of conscience" and "endless"...then also download every other song that they have ever made
some people hate screaming, but if you have no problem with it, I have LOADS of bands to recommend
and hey, if you want some ambient electronica, i could always send you some of mine ;D

Oh GAWD Tim! I have NO IDEA who these people are talkling about! A bit more hi nrgy oriented here- anything from Pet Shop Boys (gotta love that Brit irony) to ReAct 2 Rythm. Just no acoustic or trance. Jett, the Sat AM door guy was hung over and depressed, played folk and trance all morning. We nearly killed him. Do you know hard hard it is to get motivated to Sarah McGlaughlin (sp) ?? peace

I sound like my father...................not a good thing!! One of the most unusual, but actually made sense was last week. I kept hearing piano coming from the power lifting corner. A guy was doing some truly explosive clean and jerks. When he was done he pulled of his headphones and I heard the 3rd movement to Beethovens 5th piano concerto, the "Emperor". He was timing his lifts to rollicking tempo and cannon like clashes. Pretty awesome. Who says classical is for wimps? B

Jethro Tull Ski? Dang man, the guy its tooting around on a flute! How can that be good to listen to while working out? I can't believe a guy was listening to classical while lifting. I am classical fan myself but never to lift weights. My gym only allows metal or extremely hard rock. There were a few guys that listened to rap but they got ran out of there. You need to keep your music hard and intense, just like your workouts.

hey..ronnie was listening to rap when doing his deadlifts ;D Ronnie can do whatever he wants! :Not Worthy: I don't mind rap and would much rather listen to it than pop or country. I don't mind older country like Cash, Waylon, Haggard, Hank, etc., but just not when lifting. That would be so weird. I agree with you Tim. Those guys are talented, just no flutes while lifting. That would make me want to pick up the pink DB's and start jazzercising. ;D

There ain`t nothing wrong with the pink dumbells, as long as it`s a light day,and Jazzercise rules as the utmost state of the art cardio ! ;D
