HAHAHAH, WELL I AM CERTAINLY GLAD I STARTED THIS THING.
SOME VERY GOOD POINTS WHERE RAISED ON BOTH SIDES HERE, I RESPECT LAYNE AND ERIC, AND ITS ALWAYS GREAT TO SEE INTELLIGENT DEBATE.
I WISH I WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE MORE WHILE THE THREAD WAS FRESH, BUT NONE THE LESS, THIS IS A GREAT DIALOGUE.

Yes it certainly is! I'm a great believer in trying something out once and if it doesn't work, ditching it. I don't know about the anabolic effects of glutamine,I think the jury's still out on that one but I do know it helps alleviate my DOMS particularly after a heavy leg session. Creatine is the #1 scientifically proven supplement and although it doesn't work for everyone,is definitely worth a try!

My 2 Cents here:
As some of you know I've only been training for about 3 years, but my first trainer, who is the trainer for MOST of the top female figure and fitness competitors at the Olympia, swears by glutamine as part of your supplement regimine. Now...science, and everything aside, I've been using it for about 3 years, along with BCAA's after my workouts. I concur with Beckie, that it does help my recovery, but most significant is the fact that I think it kicks up my immune system, because I really haven't had so much as a sniffle in the last 3 years! My old trainer use to say that with all your hard work, you can't afford to get sick, and with some of the things we do, and being in a gym environment, etc., you need to keep your immune system intact. Might be the workouts...might be the diet....or it might just be the glutamine? Who knows!?!?! My 2 cents!
