Carbs is also my #1 choice over Fat because...
Eat 160 cals of protein and 160 cals of carbs... if your body doesnt need those 160g of carbs (energy) it'll store them as glycogene.

hey guys, bumpin this for a question. What about these so called "net carbs" I seem them everywhere. My mom just bought some low carbed muti grain bread that has a net carb of 6g. How do these really affect us. I usually stay away from these when I"m in pre-contest mode. I wanted your thoughts on the matter.

Net carbs are supposed to be the only carbs in the product that can affect blood sugar. I dont trust it though. If it didnt have a face or come from something that had a face than forget it...

I'm with Rubi on this one. I eat stuff with net carbs, but never when I'm leaning out (can't say contest cause I've never been in one other than with myself). The FDA had a hard time deciding what category to put the sugar alcohols in. They don't effect insulin like regular carbs. But they don't have a nitrogen molecule like Protein. And it's not fat, so where exactly do you put it? Hard to decide, but since it lacked the nitrogen molecule, I guess they found it better to seperate it with the carbs, since it's more of a carb than a protein/nitrogen molecule.
