April 30/07
Decided to really go the Mentzer route and try his recommended workout. I'll be using this for the next few weeks.
Superset a) Leg Ext: 285x8
b) Horizontal Leg Press: 340x12
Squats: 455x6 ***new PB***
Seated Leg Curls: 210x8 210x6
Seated Calf Raises: 6 plates x 6 6 plates x 6
Toe Press: 10 plates x 12
Superset a) Pec Dec: 210x6
b) Incl. Bench Press: 225x8
Dips: bodyweight x fatigue
Superset a) Tricep Pushdowns: 150x10
b) Dips: bodyweight x fatigue
Cardio: 15 min. jogging on treadmill total cals: 210
Total gym time: 60 min.
This was a very tough workout. A lot tougher than the previous version (ala Dorian). Though only one work set was performed, the use of supersets and negatives really made it brutal.

May 1/07
Cardio & Abs[/b]
55 min. walking on Treadmill - 8-10 incline @ 4.3 mph
Total cals: 825
Weighted Hanging Leg Raises: 3 sets x fatigue
Awesome workout today. The cardio was good but the Leg Raises were brutal. I was using a 35 lb DB and was able to get around 20 reps per set.

Terry....I know you had some issues with loose skin during last year's contest run. Have you ever tried thiomucase? LaCour swore by it...I don't think it is being manufactured anymore, but I'm pretty sure you might still be able to get your hands on some. I think there is a few other formulas out there that are similar. I have also heard of guys using Preparation H to do the same thing...just make sure you get the odorless kind, unless you like to smell like fish!!

If I decide to compete this year, I may give thiomucase a try. Thanks Keith.

Hey I've got the same "loose skin" issue. Tried the Prep H thing....didn't work at all. My best shot was VERY careful posing, vacuum posing with the abs, etc. If I was 20 years younger, I'd get rid of the skin!

Hey Frank!! I'm lucky so far. This year I've maintained a pretty good bf% (hasn't been higher than 15%) and bw has been around 210. Right now I'm 12% bf and 198 bw. Once I'm down to "contest weight" (I'm guessing somewhere around 185) I should be alright. My main problem has always been the lower abs. Upper and mid are developing very well. Lowers are a lot slower.
