Thanks!!!!!!! April 29th, a bit more than 6 weeks out from the WNSO show, I'm back dieting after 5 days off (including 3 carb up days).- 199lbs today, instead of the 194lbs on contest day. - Today I realized how easy it is to train when we are not carb depleted or on a low calories diet! I highly recommend it But I must not get use to it, in a couple of days, I know I wont feel like this anymore. - When dieting, I would sell my mother for a cup of oatmeal or some Fiber one dry cereals but after a pig out day... I'm telling you they both taste AWEFUL! Hehe! - Diet will look like 350g protein and 200g of carbs during the next days. Water will be back around 4 liters.

Sorry for the confusion guys I had a show with Musclemania on April 26th, but will have another one in 6 weeks with the WNSO! Because I'm eating clean since January, I decided to take some days off from dieting after the first show but I'm back at it until June 14th! James, John, Chris, Jon, thanks for stopping by my journal!

To be seen as a dedicated person is a wonderful compliment to me, thanks you Roger! Bodyweight is around 198lbs now (compared to the Musclemania's 194lbs) and I must say that it's a bodyweight which allows me to be a lot fuller and rounder. Since I had to be less than 195lbs to enter the light heavy class of the Musclemania show, I did go down to 194, but since there is no class for the WNSO show, I'm gonna compete at what I think is my best bodyweight... around 197lbs. In 2006, I was just a bit less heavier than that for this show! Strange sport... I mean, I was very happy with the package I brough on stage in April but although I do not pay attention to sodium, water, carbs, etc right now... I'm 100% sure that my current physique would beat it (With some tanning and shaving, for sure )... because I dont seem to retain any water... while keeping the same bodyfat and being fuller and a lot more vascular! So I cant stop asking myself questions... and here are the mind games again! I'll now update the journal on a very regular basis until the show!

It's like that every year, but it still amazes me to see how much faster my metabolism gets after a show! My carbs are now up to an average of 230g a day (versus approx 150g before the show), and I'm having a hard time maintaining my bodywight! In a way, it's a very good thing, but in another it's sometimes hard to guess how much food I need! For example, I was in Providence last week end to help my training partner for a competition and just because I had to walk all day and help with the tan, the pump and stuff like that, I got completely depleted! :-) I know it sounds strange... but it's a fact, I truly need a lot more food than before the April 26th contest! By the way, Fernand did very good! He was in the shape of his life at the age of 65... (did I say 65? YES 65 Y/O!!!)... and placed 1st in the over 50 class. Although he was the only competitor in the class, I know he would have done very well against some 50 y/o young bucks :-)
195lbs tonight... I'm gonna have some more carbs I think :-) so see you after the oatmeal... :-)

This is why you carb cycle on a diet like you just got done doing. A diet that is continually high in fats and low in carbs isn't going to do this. Your diet was a text book example. Good luck at your next contest.
