Randy, I know that you are trying to be ready in time for the April show, but I truly hope that you do not put some pressure on you because of me. I mean, I'll do the show and I would just be glad to be there with my very good friend even if he doesnt compete in it! So losing strength while dieting is normal, but if you find that this year is worst than usual, please dont be unnecessary extreme with the diet!

Randy, I believe much as you do, and I feel your pain (is that too Bill Clinton? Lol). Two things, well 3, are you sure you're not TOO low in calories, etc? Are you burning more energy prior to your workouts? Ie stress, morning cardio? Any other changes? Ps I tried smith benches today, and I was much stronger in absolute weight, 360 vs 300 to 315 for a couple. I think it takes the stress off the shoulders and rotaters and puts it on pecs and tris... just a few thoughts..

I do post workout (Walk Jule) and then a second session at night. I usually train around noon. I did lower my cals to 2000 rather quickly. Remember I only had 8 weeks to work with .... I know this is an issue. Although my cals are probably higher than 2000, due to the fact that I dont count trace carbs, protein, fats in foods. I believe its all relative, so its more like 2300-2500 which is not too bad. I like the smith press idea, but at the same time I cant seem to get away from my BP challenge I have going on.... I always thought that one day I could respectfully do a PL meet... I will most likely drop bench when I switch back to DC in hopes that I can still see strength increases in it if i ever need to go back to it...

I seem to drop strenght in some things, but get stronger in others. It all comes down to the diet. Right now it is all about looking good and getting ripped. LOL Ain't this a fun sport. Relax and enjoy Randy you are still plenty strong my friend.

If you're getting weaker I believe its most assuredly because of the time frame you're in. Anytime I've had to lose weight in a short period of time the same thing has happened to me.

This way I can take on a new exercise in a new order and progress that way.
