Did any of you guy`s workout today ? If so,what bodypart,or parts, did you train? Any high points? I did delts and triceps.Due to the gym being closed, because of the holidays, I opted to go lighter and faster. My delts were throbbing, and burning, and pumped well.On tris, I trained like an animal, and got a great intense workout.I didn`t want to go too heavy, as I`m kind of training for power, and this would have affected next weeks "back on schedule" training.

I usually workout in the PM. Have chest and back on my schedule for today. I'll post how it went. I now know I have been sand bagging, so I will let you know what difference there was.

Back: Bent over bb rows 3x10-10-7 (plus 10lbs) Bent over db rows 3x6-8-7 Inline reverse flys(for lack of a better term, facing the bench) 3x6-7-6
Abs: just 3x45 roman chairs
I did three sets of laterial raises just to warn the shoulders I'M BACK!

Tim, it sounds like you have a little more fun than did I ;D. However, I did get a good arm night and shoulders.
On a side note, is it a bad thing to do a light high rep set after completing a BP? I like the tight pump, but I don't want to defeat anything.

Well, after doing 3 sets of standing db curls, 3 sets of EZ bar curls and 3 sets of sitting incline db curls, I took a set of light db's (25 lb)and basicly rep'd out(about 18?). I actually quit because my bi's were starting to cramp. Make any better sense?

Gotcha! I sometimes do a similar practice myself.I don`t think that it hurts anything at all, as long as you are not going crazy on it.In your case, your total sets for biceps is only 10, which in my opinion is just asbout right, since it is a relatively small muscle, and to do too much for it, would just hamper recuperation.A final pump set like that is good occasionally .A lot of people say that you don`t necessarily need a good pump to grow ,and they are right, but there are also a lot of benefits to getting a good pump in a muscle.A pump brings oxygenated rich blood to the bodypart,it flushes out lactic acid,it improves capillary function, and it feels freakin` good too. ;D Just don`t overdo and you`ll be good to go,stick to one final set and try not to go past 15-20 reps tops.

Last two workouts this week have been a disaster for me. Honestly worst ever. My 1st workout there yesterday, towards the last 25 mins of my training, a pigeon flew down from the ceiling and began constantly flying around the place, sh*tting all over the joint. An interruption i never thought would happen, lol! I couldn't continue to lift cause of the bird moving about the place. I would have grabbed it and helped it back up to where it came from if i wasn't scared of touching the damn thing. That workout and todays workout my squats have let me down. I was on a high last week as my poundage was slowly progressing again since my last competition. Well sadly my squat is dropping. I was so annoyed after missing my first real heavy set i just quit squatting there and then and moved on to the next exercise. My knees are hurting now i think due to not wearing knee wraps. The only thing about having to wear knee wraps for me is it means needing to wear shorts while i train and its too cold for shorts. The only up point so far out of two workouts has been me almost completing one rep with 220 pounds. I got it up close to my shoulders but just couldn't catch it. Can't wait to be able to do reps with two plates on either side of the bar. Its gona look very cool. ;D Going to London at the end of the week for 3 days with a mate of mine. Hopefully on Friday, if i find Wag Bennett's GYM, i'm going to train there for a day and find out what its like. Should be good. Alot of legends have trained there, Sergio and Arnold to name a couple. Robert

Dude, That pigeon incident is too funny,I laughed my ass off. ;D You sound like you need a break from the gym or simply to have a light week or two. That`s what I`m doing this week ,just backing off a bit.If you get to Wag`s gym ,that would be awesome,if so,please share your trip with us,or share it anyway for that matter.Good luck and have a safe trip, your training will be back on track before you know it.We all hit plateaus at times.

Perhaps take a digital camera along? It would be cool to see some of Wag's. On another note, I wasn't getting what I felt was a good chest workout the last few times, so I changed my straight bar with a little longer bar and widened my grip about 3 inches on each side. MAN, what a difference that made. Sometimes it's just a slight change that makes all the difference.

I just read my post. That 220 pounds for an almost 1 rep was with Power Cleans. The stupid fool that i am. Anyway, i'll be taking several camera's with me but unfortunetely not digital ones. However i will be getting the photo's transferred from my camera straight onto a CD so i might post some on this site. Not sure if i'll include pictures of me as i'm a little weary of having photo's of myself on the internet. You never know where pictures of yourself end up, lol! But to be honest the first problem will be to find the gym and secondly i don't know if your allowed to take photo's in the gym. I suppose i'll find out when i'm there. It'll definetely feel strange going round the gym taking snap shots of the place while other's including myself train. Anyone else that is there will end up wondering who the hell i am - "oh my god....Another bloody tourist!" ;D
